We are hoopily over the Basingstoke Roundabout with an update concerning the re-release of You and 42.

IT IS ALMOST HERE!!

That’s right Froods, you can send it out over your favorite Sub-Etha channel and let everyone know! Especially those hip to the work of Douglas Adams, the First of Froods. The manuscript is getting a final review, and within a fortnight a printed proof will be ordered. If we’re happy with it, fingers, toes, tentacles all crossed, then this new MARK 1.5 Edition will be made available.

We are aiming for a September global release. Universe wide editions cost extra to ship. Please limit your orders to Alpha Centauri and this utterly insignificant little blue green planet located in the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm, called the Urrrthh.

Summer 2026. Earth, New Jersey, United States.

As we well know that within the backwaters of the Western Spiral Arm of the Galaxy there was an insignificant blue green planet. In the year 2018, upon this pale blue dot within the United Kingdom there was a splendid and worthwhile book publisher called “Who Dares Publishing.”  

At Who Dares, there were many hip and froody staff that took a chance with a book.  That book was called You and 42: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Douglas Adams.  Between the covers of said book were many entries by numerous fans of the First of Froods: Douglas Adams. Many readers of Douglas Adams took a chance and gave their Earth currencies, Altarian Dollars, and Flanian Pobble beads to Who Dares for a copy of this wholly remarkable tome.  Who Dares did not accept leaves, or the Triganic Pu.  

Unfortunately, due to numerous reasons Who Dares Publishing closed and You and 42 went out of print.  For the last year, the editors at Myth Ink Books dared a Seventh Impossible Thing, which was to bring back this book, once thought lost to the deep depths of the proverbial IT!

As with the first publication in 2018, You and 42 donated author profits to Save the Rhino International.  Douglas Adams, a passionate conservator, was a founding member of Save the Rhino International. This charity continues work to conserve viable populations of Critically Endangered rhinos in Africa and Asia. With this new, and slightly revised and modestly updated version You and 42 Mark 1.5, all author profits will be donated to  Save the Rhino.

So, there you have it everyone, finally an update on the progress of You and 42. We will be updating more often as this project moves into the final publication stage.
